Interview with Gerry-Lynn Darcy Vice President of Real Estate, Lupoli Companies — Lawrence

Impressive footsteps: “I had the privilege of growing up with a father who was an entrepreneur within the real estate and construction industry. ... Watching him firsthand, I was able to see what hard work, determination and perseverance were about as he built his company from the ground up. ... He remains a true trailblazer in the industry who consistently thinks outside the box and his approach to design is still innovative and progressive.”

If I knew then: “At an early age, I was heavily influenced by outside forces and opinions and I was not encouraged to pursue my passions as a young adult. I learned later in life that it’s so very important to teach children what it means to be self-aware. Contemplation and planning at an early age can encourage children to set their own course. I wish I had this knowledge and understanding when I was younger.”

Be the future: “Figure out where you see yourself in five years and write down a clear picture of what you see yourself doing. Imagine yourself there and believe that you can achieve your goals. Trust that you will get there and do not worry about how.”
