Luxury Brand Opens in Lowell

Community enhancement and luxury hotel living make Thorndike Exchange a positive addition to Lowell’s City Center.

Sal Lupoli, Governor Charlie Baker, Lowell City Manager Eileen Donoghue and community leaders came together recently for the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the new mixed-use development, Thorndike Exchange.

“I heard the Governor wants to create 135,000 new homes by 2025, quality homes in Gateway Cities. He wants to create economic development and more jobs while helping to get cars off of the roads and congested highways. Plus, more commercial space for entrepreneurs and start-ups,” said Sal Lupoli. “So, we have come to Lowell, a major Gateway City, to develop an opportunity. 65 luxury apartments, 22,000SQFT of amenity space including two restaurants, a wine bar, café, roof deck, open space and concierge services, all right here.”

“No one could have imagined the changes Sal Lupoli and his team have made. We are grateful for their commitment to preserving this structure’s integrity and the attention to detail that was paid throughout the construction,” said Lowell City Manager Eileen Donoghue. “The City of Lowell is proud to be a housing choice community. Housing is in high demand and this project appeals to many, millennials, empty nesters, baby boomers and so many more.”

“I’m amazed but not surprised, Sal and his team continue to demonstrate over and

over again that there are great opportunities to create possibility in cities and in Gateway

communities,” said Governor Charlie Baker. “This is what you get, a beautiful transit-oriented

development project that is going to attract singles and seniors alike.”
