During the holidays, we partnered with Clarendon Early Education Services, Inc., A Child Care Nutrition Agency at Riverwalk Lawrence to support their Annual Toy Drive—and we are thrilled to announce that it was a BIG SUCCESS!

We asked all of you to post a selfie with the #SelfiesforSanta and we donated a dollar for every person in the photo—thanks to you, we were able to contribute $1,000 to Clarendon’s Hope for the Holidays Toy Drive!

Each year, Clarendon’s goal is to provide at least one toy for each child within their organization, “very often this is the only gift that they receive,” says Cheryl Finney, CEO. “Thanks to the generous donations from the community and support given by Lupoli Companies, our 5th annual toy drive was a huge success.”

100 % of the donations received will go toward toys for these children. “We purchase toys all year long and keep them in storage until the next year’s toy drive,” explains Cheryl. The families Clarendon serves are at 50% or below the state median income and struggling to meet the demands of raising children under dire financial circumstances. “The funds raised from the Selfies for Santa program made it possible for our parents to provide gifts to their children at Christmas,” adds Cheryl. “The joy this brought to our families is immeasurable!”

Located in Lawrence, Springfield, Boston and Lowell, Clarendon’s mission is to provide quality, culturally sensitive and affordable services to families who meet state minimum income levels. We also work with parents who qualify for subsidized childcare in order to be able to work or receive a High School Diploma or other educational credential that will allow them to enter the work force. Clarendon provides year-round, full-day educational child care programs from birth to thirteen, including free meals, transportation and support services to assist families as they struggle to meet the demands of raising children.

Thank you to all who snapped their selfies and donated to this worthy cause!
